As we begin 2026, it marks the commencement of my second full year working as an independent consultant for a range of clients; and to reflect and look ahead at the challenges in the adoption and bonds sector which has become a specialism for me during the last 13 years of my career spanning over 30 years as a Legal Practitioner.

With a wealth of experience, I have dealt with many different issues on behalf of clients. My practice is broad based specialising in legal and adoption agreements together with associated indemnifying insurance. I have enjoyed a varied role including private practice and working across the construction sector directly for a construction trade federation with developers before specifically advising on claims against road and sewer bonds primarily on behalf of Local Authorities. During the course of my career, I took advice on specific points of law from Kings Counsel including Stephanie Barwise, further enhancing my knowledge of the sector.

When faced with the financial, regulatory and market related challenges clients can often feel overwhelmed. Local authorities and developers face a range of complexities in the bond sector and whilst their roles differ many of the pressures overlap especially in today’s environment of tighter credit conditions and greater investor scrutiny.

My experience has provided not only insight on the issues faced when making claims but also has afforded a great understanding of the challenges faced when defending claims, which enables me to provide expert legal advice and strategic guidance to individuals, businesses or organisations helping them navigate this complex legal landscaping with tailored solutions.

With a mature commercial awareness, I understands the pressures facing the legal industry and am aware of the changing needs of a client, and pride myself in delivering a service which is truly supportive of a clients objectives and desired outcome.
